Do you know a "crunchy" or natural-minded mom and have NO idea what to buy her?
Many crunchy mamas are working to eliminate toxins, plastic, and other unhealthy and conventional items from their home. See the list below to find non-toxic and healthy gifts they'll love.
If you are a crunchy mom, or working toward living a more natural life, I hope this list can be a starting place for coming up with and sharing some gifts that would be meaningful to you!
THE Crunchy mama GIFT IDEA LIST
I took an informal poll on Facebook and heard from HUNDREDS of moms who consider themselves "crunchy". Here are the gifts they said they'd love to receive:
1. Natural skin and beauty products
There are so many skin and beauty product gift sets that contain harmful fragrances and chemicals. I have found it SO nice when I receive a gift like this that contains natural products that I feel good about putting on my skin.
Also, most crunchy moms would be thrilled with the ultra-natural Earthley skin care line here.
2. handmade natural items
Look for items made with natural materials like cotton, wool, glass, or ceramic (with lead-free glaze). Check out some great handmade gifts on Etsy.
Or get crafty and make a gift (

3. real maple syrup or honey
Many crunchy moms LOVE to use honey or maple syrup as an alternative to sugar, but it can be expensive! So it's a wonderful treat to receive it as a gift.
Where to find it:
4. himalayan salt lamp
Himalayan salt lamps are beautiful and also release negative ions to pull dust and other pollutants out of the air, purifying the air around them!
Many crunchy mamas I spoke with mentioned this is on their wish list!

5. beeswax candles
Candles, and especially those with synthetic fragrances release all kinds of harmful substances into the air. Beeswax candles, however, burn very clean compared to regular candles (and even soy candles). They smell nice without fragrance added, but are often scented with natural fragrances or essential oils.
Treat your favorite crunchy mom to a beeswax candle like Lavender Beeswax Aromatherapy Candle.
6. massage Gift certificate
This might be the favorite gift I heard over and over from natural-minded moms. Give mom a break to go relax and be pampered. Massage is also AWESOME for improving overall health and healing by aiding the body in removing toxins and improving circulation.
Check with your local massage studio for gift cards, or buy one on Groupon!
9. OTHER KITCHEN ITEMS
You may want to find out what they need or want before buying!

Several natural-minded mamas listed plants as a nice gift that they enjoy for their homes. If you're not sure what type of plant they would appreciate, something low-maintenance like a succulent, or a plant that can be planted outside when Spring rolls around are great choices!
11. water filter or alkaline water machine
A nice water filter is high on a lot of crunchy moms' wish lists. Something that filters out toxins, heavy metals, and fluoride, but leaves in essential minerals is a great pick. Our favorite is this Travel Berkey Water Filter with fluoride filters. It takes up very little space on the countertop, but is also available in larger sizes.
Others may prefer an alkaline water machine, like this one by Pure Hydration.
Some moms also mentioned they would love to get a shower filter as a gift. We love this Berkey shower filter at our house!
12. sandals or comfy shoes
There is nothing quite like a really great pair of sandals. Or, if they live in a cold climate (and you don't want them to have to wait until spring), maybe a great pair of boots or comfy and durable shoes or moccasins would be a great gift!
I recommend sandals by Keen, Chacos, or Teva (I recently bought some leather sandals from Teva while on vacation, and LOVE them). All three of those sites also carry some great options for comfy, durable boots and other shoes!
13. winter gear
If your gift recipient lives in a cold climate, some really great winter gear is essential to get outside regularly. (Wind and weather-proof coats, base layers, wool socks, and warm gloves, boots, and hats are a must)
Last year, we asked for winter gear for the whole family from relatives, and my husband and I bought snowshoes for our family as a Christmas gift. We had SO much fun staying warm while we all got outside together and snowshoed. We even took a long weekend up north and snowshoed some awesome hiking trails!
14. clothing gift card
A gift card to a clothing store you know they love can be a perfect gift!
If you're not sure which brands they like, stores that offer quality pieces, and are socially responsible are good choices.
Prana has a great selection of everyday clothing, as well as sportswear in sustainable and organic materials.

15. healthy groceries
There are so many options for grocery delivery now, and what mom wouldn't love to save time and not have to make the run to the grocery store with kids in tow?
You could gift them with a year membership for Thrive Market, (healthy grocery items up to 50% off shipped to their door).
Amazon also has a grocery delivery service now in many areas! Gift them with a subscription to Amazon Fresh for unlimited monthly grocery delivery! Enter their zip code to see if Amazon Fresh is available in their area.
16. healthy treats or snacks
Spoil them a little with something they love but don't usually buy themselves. Fancy chocolate, baked goods, wine (if they drink it), or other food items they love will be much appreciated! If you know they are gluten-free, dairy-free or on another special diet, and you find something delicious they can have anyway, you might be their hero!
For intentional, sustainable chocolate, that pays a fair wage, check out "Original Beans" chocolate! Get the Story of Cacao gift set here.
17. natural remedies
Natural remedy products like the ones from Earthley were mentioned as a gift crunchy mamas would like to receive.
If you're not sure where to start, you could create a basic natural remedy gift set with the following items: Elderberry Elixir (for cold/flu symptoms), Arnica Salve (for bumps and bruises), Drawing Salve (minor scrapes, bug bites, poison ivy, stings), Digest-Ease (for stomachaches and healthy digestion), and Pain Potion ( for headaches and general pain relief).
Check out the Earthley product guide for more info on some amazingly natural products and remedies for the family!
19. supplies for their hobby
A lot of natural mamas are also creative. Does she like to make something, crochet, bake, hike, or have some other hobby? A gift of supplies or equipment for a hobby can be SUPER meaningful for moms. The gift not only gives them the ability to do their hobby, it also communicates that taking some time out for themselves is ok!
20. something from their amazon wish list (or an amazon gift card)
